Total Time: 10 minutes
1 scoop grass fed collagen peptides
2 shots espresso
1 cup nut milk
1 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
1 tsp MCT coconut oil
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 med-jool date (pit removed)
Add all the above ingredients into a high speed blender (vita-mix is best).
Blend for 5 minutes until you can feel the machine is warm.
Pour into mug of choice, stir, and enjoy!

I have this late for breakfast every morning because it is packed with nutrients.
My favourite nut milk to have it with is walnut milk, which I make from scratch. Walnuts are high in omega 3’s, which have anti inflammatory properties and they are a good source of fuel for the brain.
The coconut flakes make it so creamy and delicious!
One of the reasons why I pair a fat with my coffees is because it helps slow down the absorption process. If you are dealing with chronic stress, caffeine on an empty stomach may further disrupt the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are responsible for releasing the stress hormone cortisol. When cortisol is high, this can also increase blood sugar levels. When stress becomes chronic, blood sugar can remain chronically elevated in the body. Over time, this can create an imbalance within our circadian rhythms. Our circadian rhythms regulate our sleep / wake cycle. Therefore, when our sleep / wake cycle becomes imbalanced, our energy levels can become imbalanced as well.
I like to add a fat to my coffee, such as a nut, cacao butter, or MCT oil derived from coconut oil. Incorporating a fat into your daily coffee may assist with balancing stress hormones, which in turn may keep blood sugar levels stable. I like to use bulletproof MCT oil because it is one of the fastest absorbed fats out there. It takes a faster route in the body through the hepatic portal vein, to the liver, where it helps to provide quick energy and it may assist in boosting metabolism.
